  This restaurant is outstanding. We have lived in the area for quite a while and somehow never stumbled onto Cedar! The service and the food rival food experiences I have had in San Francisco and New York. Let me start with the food, our party was all vegetarians but we heard other vegetarians and non vegetarians specifically talking about the vegetarian options on the menu here. I have food allergies (gluten and certain spices), and Cedar went above and beyond to make sure I was able to have a great experience. We ordered the cheese plate which was delicious, the cheeses were a wonderful variety and accompanied with raisins and nuts. Next, our party ordered the goat cheese & wild mushroom salad, which the chef altered so that I could join in on the ate (normally breaded). For my main, I ordered the sweet potato and rutabaga gratin, this was incredible! The flavors, the texture and the presentation were outstanding. We also ordered dessert, we ordered the creme brûlée and devoured it.
  
  Now to move on to the service, WOW! From the moment we got there, the staff was attentive and gave great recommendations. They surprised us by putting our dessert on a beautiful plate that said happy anniversary. They were so kind in thanking us for celebrating with them.
  
  I will definitely return to Cedar!

  A lovely dining experience and a professional waitstaff is synonymous with Cedar. The fact they offer a vegan menu with more than just a tofu dish really sets them apart from other DC restaurants.
