A terrible experience. Had a gift card and the cashier had no idea how to use it after I had ordered. She told me because of that my lunch would be free. I said thank you and sat down at a table. Ten minutes later, she came over and asked for the gift card again, which I gave to her. She said she had spoken to someone on the phone and now knew what to do, so she charged me for the meal, with no apology whatsoever. After that, I waited 22 minutes to get my salad and sandwich! The lady who brought my food blamed the delay on the guy making the sandwiches 'running his mouth instead of working'. Did I mention there was only one other customer in the room? And additional insult: the salad was inedible. NEVER again, they have lost a customer forever!

After retail therapy in upscale Friendship Heights (Chevy Chase Pavilion) you can get replenished at the Lunchbox. The gourmet sandwiches are full and filling. I had a ham and tasty cheese panini and licked my fingers. My reason for three stars is that the it's at high-end prices given the location. City gal on budget needs to save when she eats... especially after she shops ;)

I used to love coming here on my lunch breaks- food is good. I gave this place one star because the customer service is horrendous - why do you hire people who hate life? Also, how could you charge people 75 cents for a tiny piece of bread?! I bought a bowl of soup and was charged 75 cents for a TINY piece of bread... So I asked for another and she was trying to charge me again. With all the other food options and food trucks in Chevy Chase, you just lost a customer and trust me, I will be sure to spread the word.
